Assets of Sustainable Brick Manufacturer to Hit Auction Block

Tiger Group to sell inventory and assets of CalStar’s late-model facility in Columbus, Miss. in January 21st online sale; bidding opens January 14th

By order of the secured lender, Tiger Capital Group’s Remarketing Services Division, in cooperation with Silicon Valley Disposition, will conduct an online auction on January 21 for Calstar Products’ complete brick block and paver manufacturing facility in Columbus, Miss.

The sale—which follows New York-based Tiger’s successful online auction of equipment and other assets from CalStar’s manufacturing facility in Racine, Wisc.–will include state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, molds, plant support, and spare parts – all 2010 and newer – with a replacement cost value of more than $6.5 million, in addition to more than 1 million units of new product. Office furniture and furnishings, and other assets, including intellectual property, will also be up for bid. The assets from the defunct company, which billed itself as America’s only manufacturer of sustainable brick and masonry products, are being offered for sale as a complete turnkey package with favorable lease terms, but bidders can also acquire items on an individual basis.

Online bidding will commence January 14 at www.SoldTiger.com and will close in rapid succession, live auction style, on January 21, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (CT). Previews of the assets will be held January 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (CT) at the facility located at 340 Charleigh D. Ford Junior Drive in Columbus.

“This sale represents a rare buying opportunity for brick makers or distributors, construction and other companies to acquire a late model brick manufacturing operation on a turnkey or piecemeal basis,” said Matthew J. DelGuidice, Tiger Senior Vice President – Industrial Remarketing.

Concrete production assets up for bid include a Wurschum powder metering pigment system with six pigment color stations and an electronic scale with weighting pressure hopper; a 2013 rapid dual mixing station with planetary mixers; a 2013 Tiger Machine Co. model TG-3V concrete products machine; and a 2013 Tiger seven-chamber curing system on automated tracks.

Material handling assets feature Asgco belt conveyors; a dump hopper and silo batch system with vibrators; Ash silos; a Noreald silo; a Veno tumbler dump station, and more.

Available inventory includes more than more than 1 million units of new finished brick, along with more than 100 never-used molds.

Plant support assets include 2013 Kaeser compressors, a 2013 Kaeser Air Dryer, an ITW Mima Stretch Wrap Series 4.40, flame-proof utility cabinets, welders, a maintenance shop, pallet racking and other equipment.

Furniture, furnishings and business equipment include desks, credenzas, chairs, file cabinets, bookcases, a conference table; break room furniture, lockers, computers, printers, telephones, and office supplies.
